Creative Arts Therapies
Expressive release can be one of the most freeing & empowering forms of healing – when done in nurturing sacred, safe space.
Creative Arts Therapies include: Art Therapy, Dramatherapy, Music Therapy & Dance & Movement Therapy.
At Hiraeth Institute we feel strongly that clients need to be held safely in their expressive creativity – in their healing processes. All our Practitioners are highly trained & constantly updating their practice knowledge, to be in keeping with current & ongoing R&D.
We feel strongly that Creative Expression is best done in nature – whenever sanely possible & this is a strong core motivation in all we do.
A NOTE ON HEALTH AND SAFETY
“The Creative Arts Therapies help to promote a sensible safety culture in which risk is managed as a life-skill and not a constricting set of rules. Through the Creative Arts Therapies people can be encouraged to explore their own possibilities and experience how they can control areas of life such as risk (October, 2007).”

“If you have only two pennies, spend the first on bread and the other on hyacinths for your soul.”
“Art is fundamental, unique to each of us…Even in difficult economic times –
especially in difficult economic times – the arts are essential.”
–Maria Shriver, Award-Winning Journalist and Author
“The arts are not a frill. The arts are a response to our individuality and our nature, and help to shape our identity. What is there that can transcend deep difference and stubborn divisions? The arts. They have a wonderful universality. Art has the potential to unify. It can speak in many languages without a translator. The arts do not discriminate. The arts can lift us up.”
–Former Texas Congresswoman Barbara Jordan
“How can we turn our back on an endeavor which increases our children’s cultural intelligence, heightens individual sensitivity and deepens our collective sense of humanity? I suggest to you that we cannot.”
–Alec Baldwin at Arts Advocacy Day 1997
